What we do
We develop and operate solar farms throughout Germany. Our many years of experience is what sets us apart. Our first PV plant has been generating ecological electricity since 2005 and still operates today. Building on this, we have successfully developed about 1 GW over the last 15 years. In all our projects our goal is to be long-term partners from making the first contact and identifying suitable areas, consulting with land owners, and negotiating with cities and municipalities on their land use regulations and planning, to developing a financing structure that all leads to the construction and subsequent operation of our solar farms.
We attach particular importance to project development, which we manage exclusively in-house to ensure the quality of our projects. In this way, we achieve a perfect success rate in the implementation of our projects: what we start, we finish. Our partners can rely on this. We want to keep it that way with our existing pipeline of 500 MW and all future projects.
Initial contact and development
We personally select and manage our projects. We secure suitable locations for our solar farms, negotiate leases or purchase agreements with the owners, and ensure early involvement of the city or community and its citizens.
In addition, we lead the discussion with the grid operator to determine the optimal feed-in point and technical configuration and work out the technical plant design. We pay great attention to the thorough preparation and monitoring of the land use planning procedure. We retain full control over the entire development process. For this reason, we are able to respond flexibly to the requirements of municipalities, citizens, and other stakeholders, to support the successful development of our projects.
Power purchase agreements (PPA) management
BSC Energie has extensive expertise in the negotiation and contractual implementation of power purchase agreements (PPA). We focus on the selection of contracting parties and the optimal contract elements specific to each solar farm to ensure the long-term financial validity of our solar farms.
Financing
Together with our partner banks, we develop effective and cost-efficient project financing for our solar farms. In addition, we enable the financial and active participation of citizens in the vicinity of our solar farms via citizen participation and crowdfunding, if there is sufficient interest in a community.
Technical design and construction
We are independent of component manufacturers and general contractors, allowing us to make the optimal selection for each project. We work with leading engineering ...
procurement, and construction (EPC) companies for the detailed design, engineering, and construction of our solar farms. Drawing on our many years of experience, our main tasks are the effective management of the EPC and quality control. Furthermore, we take care of disruptions should they occur during construction.
Technical operation and maintenance
We draw on the wealth of experience we have gained from operating solar PV projects since 2005 to ensure the technical performance and safety of our solar farms. For this purpose, we cooperate with local service companies to achieve short response times.
Asset management
For commercial support, we rely on a sister company from our group of companies. All our assets are thus managed efficiently and centrally, while lease payments and other administrative matters are handled promptly and reliably.
Not only we entrust our facilities to this sister company, which has been operating successfully in the market for 10 years and is managing renewable assets for other major German investors as well.
